How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
This has been a busy week around Hazel’s House….and the week’s not even over.
We spent much of the weekend cleaning our home for trafficking victims. For me, this is a labor of love. I think about all the girls who will come through the doors, I pray for their situations now, and I work with excitement over the thought of saving just ONE.
Also, on Saturday, in addition to our kids group, we served breakfast to the South High Middle School team breakfast before their championship game. Amara & Jacob Thompson, our Directors, have been instrumental in making the schools in our neighborhood aware that we are here to serve.
Oh yeah, that drug bust on the south side a couple weeks back, that was 3 doors from our Southfield/Marion Franklin Hazel’s House. Interns Jeff & Tonya watched as SWAT knocked the door down. There’s no experience like watching your first SWAT bust.
Monday morning we met with Senator Rob Portman’s office to discuss issues in our neighborhoods. Heroin use, sex trafficking, these are the neighborhoods we live in.
There are also exciting developments in our neighborhoods, can’t share all the details, but change is coming!!!
Please join us Friday night as we celebrate Hazel’s House of Hope, and our founder Cindi Gremling. Trust me, it takes a lot of hard work for that 15 seconds of fame. Stop by and say thank you for all the hard work done, and the courage she and her husband Dan had to make that leap of faith.
Do you want to be a world changer? Call us. We are in need of help renovating the home for girls, planning and serving Easter Dinner…..the list is endless.
