We are pleased to announce that Cindi Johnson Gremling, Founder of Girls with Attitude and Hazel’s House of Hope has been selected as one of 20 finalist for the Jefferson Award presented by Channel 10 in Columbus, Ohio.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Senator Robert Taft Jr. of Ohio created the national Jefferson Awards in 1972 to highlight the work of “unsung heroes.” On the local level, the Jefferson Awards recognize volunteers who serve central Ohio in a variety of ways.

“These are the folks who are the super volunteers,” said Angela Pace, 10TV director of community affairs. “They see the need and do something about it, devoting their lives to it.”  http://www.10tv.com/content/sections/community/jefferson-awards.html

Cindi, along with her husband Dan have given their lives to Hazel’s House of Hope and Girls with Attitude “serving the least of these.”  The Gremlings are driven by the desire to change the world-one girl, one house, one block, one city at a time.  Cindi shared that she felt the nomination was not about her, but about being obedient, and a servant leader.  She added that there are many people who make Hazel’s House what it is.  From interns living in the 5 homes, to volunteers who dedicate hours of their time, to donors who give of their resources.
